Overview
Security is foundational to Visual. We design the product to minimize risk while enabling teams to explore data, generate analyses, and share visualizations.
Data protection
- Encryption in transit: requests to Visual are protected using TLS.
- Encryption at rest: stored data is protected using industry-standard encryption.
- Least privilege: we recommend read-only credentials for database connections and scoped permissions where possible.
Access controls
- Teams and roles: work can be organized by team with access controls applied at the workspace level.
- Sharing controls: visualizations can be private or shared, depending on your settings.
- Authentication: support for modern auth patterns including enterprise SSO options for qualifying plans.
Operational security
- Monitoring: we monitor service health, performance, and security signals.
- Incident response: we follow an incident response process to triage, contain, and resolve security events.
- Backups: we maintain backups to support recovery and reliability.
